The ASU Prep book fair begins on Tuesday. It will be open from 9/15-9/18. Hopefully you and your family will be able to check it out!
Benchmark testing (which is comparable to Galileo testing that we have done in the past) will begin the week of September 21st. We will test Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. Please make sure that your child is present and on time those days. During the testing week, students will be creating book reports at school. I let them know on Friday that they will need to select a chapter book that is a good fit for them to read. They will need to check with me tomorrow, Sept. 14th, for approval. Once the book they have selected has been approved, they can begin reading. The book needs to be read by Thursday, September 24th in order to begin creating their book report in class the following day. The students will be creating a soda bottle character from their book and will need to bring in some supplies. I will be sending a page home tomorrow with the students that explains the project and the supplies that they will need to complete the project. It should be a lot of fun! We are excited about our upcoming field trip to Childsplay theater on September 29th to see "Sideways Stories From Wayside School", based on a book we have been reading in class. Permission slips were sent home last Thursday, and we're asking that they be returned on or before next Friday, September 11th. Thank you!
